State of Oregon Sports Hall of Fame
We would like to congratulate Tom Levak. Tom is one of our senior competitors. We apologize for not posting this sooner.
Last October Tom Levak became the first martial artist of any kind to be inducted into the State of Oregon Sports Hall of Fame. Among the other 7 inductees were US Olympians, two NFL All Stars, a Wimbledon winner, and Gary Payton, 7-time NBA All Star.
Check out oregonsportshall.org for its report and a couple of photos. So far as we know, very few martial arts competitors have ever been inducted into state halls. Ed Parker and two others are in the Hawaii Hall, but I couldn't find any others. Tom is pretty proud of this, he is also a 17-time USANKF National Champion and a Funakoshi World Champion, We think he deserves a lot of recognition. congratulations Tom!
